Dairy Established in 1990, at Station road Bodwad, Taluka - Bodwad in Jalgaon District.

The dairy project at Bodwad was started in the year 1990. Previously we collected 200 ltr milk per day. The Dairy Development Department uses new techniques to improve flow in milk, milk production, and milk suppliers to get more quantity of milk. Today, the milk production capacity has increased to over 1 Lakh litres per day. Day-by-day our Development Department tries to increase milk, milk suppliers and maintain the quality of milk.

Milk is mostly collected from suppliers as well as our milk collection centers. At the milk collection centers, all milk suppliers of a particular village / town supply their milk. Milk quantity & fat quantity is checked for each milk supplier individually. After collection of milk from all the suppliers, it is sent to our plant for further processing.

Milk is collected by milk travelling vehicles or any other way. At Bodwad Dairy Plant, whole milk is checked for ltr quantity as well as FAT, SNF, Acidity, MBR, sugar test, urea test, temperature / degree, etc. The milk goes through various processes such as Clarification, Homogenization, Standardization and Pasteurization, to ensure that it is good for human consumption.

Our plant supervisor strictly check quality measures is to ensure that there is no contamination while processing or packaging. After proper checking of milk it supplies for chilling,paschurization, homonizer and other processing in our plant & store it. Then stored milk is ready for milk packing.

After completely packing milk, randomly any packet is again tested with a variety of tests for the market. Dairy promises their consumers that it will continue to supply products with best quality.

INSTRUMENTS USED FOR QUALITY CONTROL

1. MILKOSCAN: It is used to check quality of milk in terms of proteins, sugar and fat and the said percentage is found out by the process of Milkoscan . It requires about 30 to 35 seconds for each sample.

2. DENSITY METER : It is used to check milk in terms of solids other than fats in the milk and which should be up to 8.5% percent in the milk. It mostly used for checking of SNF of milk.

3. Milk Chiller : The machines maintain the quality of milk received in the Dairy plant, it is chilled to 4°C by using a milk plate chiller. The chiller consists of stainless steel plates. Chilling is done by flowing milk from one side and chilled water from the other side of the plates. The capacity of a milk plate chiller is about 3000 litres per hour.

4. To maintain the quality of milk for a longer period it needs to be pasteurized. In this process, milk is first heated up to 80°C and cooled to 4°C. In this process, milk is heated through hot water and a few seconds later is cooled by means of cold water.

5. Milk Homogenizer : To disperse fats uniformly into the mass of the milk, fat particles are broken into very small particles. It consists of a high pressure pump. It also reduces the yellow shade of milk.

6. Cream Separator : Cream Separator is used to separate fat from milk.

7. Milk is distributed in polythene film packs. In this machine, the required quantity of milk (200/500 ml) is filled in polythene pouches and sealed. It has a capacity of packing 5000 ltr per hour.
